I apologize for the short notice, and the. . . [waves. a hand] Timing of this meeting.

But I've discovered how to reach a "happy ending" for this game. I've also learned about the other extra titles, much like our own, that exist in this war game.

I'd rather not wait until Monday to tell you all.

[ a pained expression comes across his face as he remembers the execution, but he quickly forces himself back to something more neutral ]

Dazai did not. Dazai's objective was to tie someone up and give them up to a murderer, or murder them himself.

[ Natsuo looks more relieved about this than anything. ]

He wouldn't do it, huh. He told me he wouldn't ever hurt anybody.

That's why I told him to help others accomplish their tasks. It gave him some peace of mind, at least.

Then let me make a list of each and every Narrator in this castle-- living and dead-- and we can place a check mark next to their name for each objective we know they've completed. That'll help us keep track.

That sounds like a fair way to organize things.

[ he nods ]

I believe we need to find a way to work together with Belph in order to figure out how to avoid more villain faction deaths. Or at least alert the others to how to gain this happy ending. Perhaps we should give them some of this information? If we wish to keep our identity secret, then the form of an anonymous letter might work.

[doublecrows]

Speaking of anonymous letters. . . did one of you send one to Varian-san?

[disclosures]

No. I haven't sent any letters since I've been here.

I don't have a reason.

[londonstar]

[ he shakes his head ]

I haven't.

[randori]

Not to Varian, but I've sent others. Weren't you the one talking with Varian, Goro-chan?

[doublecrows]

[huh]

Only recently, and only because he encouraged me to write to Beauty and the Beast. He receive an anonymous letter containing information regarding the endings Tiger-san and Dragon-san were pushing for. He believed it came from one of us.

But I suppose not?

[UNLESS IT WAS SOUSEI]

[ SOUSEI WHY ARE YOU DEAD AND CAN'T CONFIRM THIS ]

Could it be Belph? Since you said he knew too.

[doublecrows]

. . . it's possible. I didn't think Belph-san and Varian-san were close, though.

[randori]

[ Were either of them close to Sousei...? It's too hard to guess, and Natsuo's too absorbed in his own circle of friends to pay much attention to anybody else's. ]

Maybe that's why it was anonymous instead of in person.

When you talked with Varian, he wasn't... angry, about the whole Historian thing, was he? Do people still hate us?

No. He wasn't.

[it was weird, but Akechi's starting to think people aren't as pissed about the Historian thing as they feared]

There's a reason he willingly shared the letter I received from Beast at the trial.

[disclosures]

Hold on, what was the other ending? The one that Tiger's pushing for?

[doublecrows]

The complete eradication of a single faction. The one ending that Beauty and the Beast are warning us against.

We're unfortunately close to that one.
