I apologize for the short notice, and the. . . [waves. a hand] Timing of this meeting.

But I've discovered how to reach a "happy ending" for this game. I've also learned about the other extra titles, much like our own, that exist in this war game.

I'd rather not wait until Monday to tell you all.

He said he was sworn to secrecy about the extra roles. It's not that he doesn't trust you- [she waves at Akechi.] which you don't make it easy for people anyway, he just can't.

You know, how we can't tell everybody we're Historians in public? I think it might be like that.

Anyway, he said in a few days he might be able to tell us who sent those letters out.

It was Varian-san. He signed the letter "a friend."

Oh, that kid. I talked to him on Monday. [What a weird half lying conversation she had to go through. Oh well, she's had practice.]

Did you not tell him that we were sending out that letter or...? Did he just want to double up to make it sound more convincing?

I believe he had made his plans before I told him about our letter.

[AKECHI IS A BIT SORE THAT VARIAN DIDN'T!! TELL HIM!!]

In the end, I don't think having it confirmed from two separate sources was a bad thing. And the jars are exceedingly clever.

He didn't tell you? Isn't he yours?

[As in "your mark" instead of anything else.]

Yeah, I think it was a good outcome. Hearing it twice means they're more likely to actually believe it. I've gotten calls to help Evan, Hikage and an unknown Civilian with their objectives... I think it's Cardia since it involves pumpkins.

And I'm assisting a few with theirs this week as well. I certainly hope our message lit a fire underneath the soles of our Villains, especially.

Civilians and Heroes are good to go. We just need two more Villain objectives to finish.

How's Varian doing? Or is it one he's morally opposed to?

He's morally opposed. Veronica-san was with hers as well, and mentioned using her token to change her objective at the wishing well.

We'll have to reduce the numbers to three, you realize.

Eichi came to tell me that he's the Shield, and that somebody asked him to use it for somebody specific. He was warning me not to think he's the real victim if he turns up dead- [ which was really hard to listen to and his face scrunches up even now. ]

He used Zelos as an example, but I guess it's 'cause he's an obvious target...

[ An Asshole target and not a Villain target, but ]

Who was he asked to protect?

I dunno. He said he'd been talking to you, so I just assumed you had asked him to do it.

[ MAYBE PLEASE HURRY AND TALK TO HIM BEFORE THURSDAY ]

Somebody else who knows he's the Shield, then... Maybe he knows who the other Vizier is?

[ Or maybe Belph asked Eichi for a favor? shrugs into the abyss, he'll leave it to Akechi to find that out ]

I'm merely afraid that they'll end up overdoing it and kill too many villains.

Yes, I'm afraid of that as well. Or that the large number of Heroes will make them too confident.
