[he knows that Waver is. . . probably not in the best state of mind at the moment. but what Akechi has to share is Important with a capital I. and so, soon after the execution, he gathers up the remaining Historians and ushers them to the library for an information sharing session]

I apologize for the short notice, and the. . . [waves. a hand] Timing of this meeting.

But I've discovered how to reach a "happy ending" for this game. I've also learned about the other extra titles, much like our own, that exist in this war game.

I'd rather not wait until Monday to tell you all.

[ Natsuo reads through the letter two or three times, trying to substitute words into the ink blotches to see if anything makes sense, but the gist of it is very clear: They absolutely must help the Villains along. ]

...He said "something" out there, not "someone."

[ Someone could be dealt with, potentially. Something, though, that's so so vague, and it doesn't look like Sousei knows much about it either. ]

Something's trying to sabotage us.

...We can't assume so quickly that it's Tiger that's trying to do it, but she would be the one that will win the war if we kill off the entire villains faction.

Do you think it's whatever's making the letters come through like this? Or is somebody feeding incorrect information?

After meeting Hiro and Yona... I don't think the something is them.

[But Tiger and Dragon don't have anything above them. On the other hand... are they influencing other people in the game?]

Someone... Is this Sousei's handwriting? The letters I've gotten, they were signed with people's titles, not their names.

[ But it's also been a while since he'd sent or received anything from the other side, so that might have changed. People seemed to know Beauty's and Beast's names yesterday after exchanging letters, after all. ]

We faked a letter saying that it came from Beauty and the Beast and Dazai sent me a letter using someone else's owl. It's not out of the question that someone would fake Sousei's identity.

[ then he pauses, and looks over the letter again. ]

That said, Reyna did send me a letter signed with her name and it seemed quite legitimate, albeit mostly unhelpful. So it could just be preference.

[disclosures]

I have no idea, I've never seen his handwriting before. Should we all write something for each other now? So we can double check when one of us dies.

[She gets stuck on the name...]

Beauty and the Beast signed their letters with their names... Natsuo, who did you get letters from?

Me? Gi-gan and Sandalphon.

[ Neither of whom he was very close to, but he'd written to them and they wrote back. ]

The Historians' role is to encourage objective completion and balance. We are, naturally, given the task to assist Dragon-san in achieving her ending.

I have had this thought before, but what if there is a role meant to assist Tiger-san with her ending? A role whose duty is to eliminate a single faction.

[disclosures]

Historians are new to this game. And we're only here because we weren't in the castle when it collapsed.

Do you think it's one of the extra roles? It sounds like the Editors are to maintain balance between factions. But they don't kill to even out the numbers.

But that was last round.

[doublecrows]

That is the issue. I don't think any of the roles given to us-- Historian, Alchemist, Editor, Vizier-- are here to eliminate a single faction.

So if I am right, it would have to be a role that hasn't been give to us [. . .] I don't think Tiger-san and Dragon-san would withhold that kind of information this late in the game. So perhaps. . .

[he trails off, and just. frowns]

I don't know.

Maybe it's just something somebody believes in, so they do it. And Tiger would back them up.

[ Not a formal role, but somebody who just wants things to end with the least amount of casualties as possible- and that's eliminating one faction. ]

[doublecrows]

. . . yes. That was my next thought. Has anyone here expressed any sympathies towards Tiger-san?

[disclosures]

Ion. The one that isn't a clone. He said that he's been talking to Tiger and that she's fond of him.

That doesn't prove anything on it's own, but... Maybe she's been feeding him false information. He was in the library trying to learn which titles go to which person.

Oh. Yeah, they have tea together all the time. We could have found titles in the library?

[ whispers into the void, why is Natsuo a Historian and not somebody smart like Belph or Ion? ]

Natsuo, they're all fairy tales. We're all fairy tales? The library is full of fairy tales.

[She picks up "The Snow Queen" and gives it to Natsuo.

SHE DOES LOVE THIS DUMB PUPPY. SHE DOES...]

You can guess titles based off of the objectives, especially the ones that can't be done in private. I was silent for an entire week. The only one left that would need to do that is The Little Mermaid.

[ ..................he never connected his objectives to his title, which is to say, I didn't. ]

I saw him in the library as well. He expressed discontent that the Historians hadn't outed themselves and shared their information with the public. A sentiment I understand, and yet. . .

[he shrugs]

He shared his title and faction with us, yes? I somehow doubt that despite his hesitancy, he would actively try to sabotage us.

[disclosures]

Okay. So, hold on. We should probably- Who have we told we're Historians and what have we told them so far?

Sanji and Cardia both know I'm one. I told them about this being my second time, that we're getting back memories, and that they definitely need to cast a vote every trial. I also told them both about the three in each faction and the seven requirements. Actually... the same Ion told her about the the three requirement and the seven objectives.

Belph also knows I'm a Historian, but that's his job, I guess.

What have we told and to who?

I've told Belph-san, Varian-san, Veronica-san and Eichi. I suspect Hikage-san knows as well.

[and soon Nico but that PC is still going]

All of them but Veronica-san and Hikage-san know about the happy ending requirements. Again, I first received the information about how to end this game in a preferable manner from Varian-san and Belph-san.

I haven't told anybody, so Belph coming to me yesterday was the first time it came up.

That would technically make sense. But...what about the idea of a role that's meant to cause disorder? Those that go against the rules of the Crafters are taken out by the Editors, no? That would definitely cause some imbalance...

It certainly would. A role meant to prevent the completion of objectuves, perhaps. . .? To encourage others to refuse to play along?
