[it's sometime after that that he grabs Rebecca by the arm and drags her into the foyer, with little explanation for what he's doing. SORRY, REBECCA]

[While Rebecca is here, she's not really aware just yet.]

[Rebecca is at least slightly recovered, but she's still not ready to talk yet.]

[Akechi's efforts will grant him with a doorway that will lead them to the throne room! Tiger blinks at both of them, seeming surprised to see them at this hour.]

Yes?

[Akechi's a little less Manic when they make it to Tiger, too. thankfully. but he still isn't in the mood for pleasantries. he doesn't even sit down, wow! and his grip on Rebecca's arm is stil tight]

. . . Tiger-san. I need to ask you. . .

Is there someone or something in this war game attempting to sabotage the Historians?

[Rebecca doesn't even complain. The pain is definitely something that's actually grounding her in the moment.]

[Because she would definitely buy that with how bad her week has been.]

We're the last two.

[Dragon sits in her throne - the same as always - when they enter. She neatly folds her hands in her lap, though she doesn't look very pleased either. A letter is folded on the arm of her throne.]

... come. Say what you need to.

[he. . . notices that letter, gaze flickering towards it almost immediately. but that question can come later]

I-- need to know. I intend to ask the both of you separately, but as you can see, we're down to two Historians now.

Is someone or something attempting to sabotage us?

[themodsgrimm]

[She frowns, watching them both.]

Why would someone be attempting that?

[doublecrows]

[he watches her as well, a furrow in his brow, and something-- something unfamiliar, something new-- sparking in his eyes]

I don't know. I can't think of any reason why they would be.

But what about something?

[disclosures]

[Rebecca's just staring somewhere past Dragon. Please excuse her, she's not doing well today.]

[disclosures]

[Because they're getting decimated. The only two Historians that are left are the ones who are not nearly as effective as they should be.

A known murderer and her is not their best bet to get anything done.]

[themodsgrimm]

[First, Dragon conjures two seats in front of her throne. She makes an open-handed gesture to them.]

... even if you do not need to, allow her to sit, Akechi. She does not look well.

[And then - ]

As far as I am aware, there is no concentrated effort to remove Historians from the game, no.

[Ya'll. Tiger sighs, putting a hand to her forehead.]

Nothing that I know about, no. If anything is after you, it's not a plan that I've been made aware of.

Sousei-san wrote us a letter.

[he doesn't know if he can relax or not. listen he's paranoid!!]

In it, he told us to be wary, because something may be attempting to sabotage us. I don't. . . understand why he would warn us.

[disclosures]

I wrote him first. Asking about tasks.

[She doesn't seem entirely aware of what's happening here, still floating in and out of the shock of Natsuo's second death.]

[doublecrows]

[oh. yeah. he should do that. he releases Rebecca's arm, gives her a sideways glance, so she can sit down]

Is there a reason Sousei-san would warn us from the Other Side that something may be sabotaging us? [. . .] Perhaps it isn't just the Historians, but all of the Narrators in this game?

[themodsgrimm]

...I say this knowing that you've been through a lot today, and with full respect for the dead.

[Tiger leans forward, crossing her arms. She's trying not to be callous, here.]

Maybe his pride made him thoughtless.

[disclosures]

[She collapses into the chair, covering her face and trying to get herself to breathe properly again. Her thoughts are a mess. Her week was awful to start with. Natsuo died. Evan died. Professor died. Natsuo died a second time. Somebody killed Natsuo again.

Akechi is still here. They're the last two Historians left standing. They're still here. What a horrible thing that is.

It takes her a good minute before she can collect herself enough to speak.]

He... sent a letter.

[doublecrows]

His pride--

[he snaps his mouth shut, his eyes narrowing]

Did you send Editors after him because he refused to do his objective?

[disclosures]

[It takes a moment to let this sink in, before she flinches and pulls in on herself.]

Sousei?

[The Editors, Beauty and Beast both said that was a reason they killed- but it wasn't the only reason they killed. Dragon and Tiger asked for them to kill him... because he wouldn't do his objective?]

Is that what you think?

[Hmph. Her expression becomes stony, and she clarifies no further.]

[doublecrows]

It's the only explanation I can think of.

[she closes off, but Akechi keeps pushing]

[She frowns faintly.]

... I understand that there might be concerns - but I can think of nothing that would purposefully try to steer all of you into misfortunate. At the very least, there would be nothing of my doing - I assure you of that.

Perhaps ask him again? Or others you trust... Communication is key at this stage of the game.
