[Prologue, Sunday: Jae-Ha]
The red string of fate. . .
[hi, Jae-Ha. it's this guy again!!]
You saw it too, correct?
[hi, Jae-Ha. it's this guy again!!]
You saw it too, correct?

that said jae-ha's from old timey fantasy korea so:]
Hm? You mean the thing tying me to Sousei?
Did you recognize it?

Those who are bound together by the red string are said to be tied by destiny. Generally it has romantic implications, but not always.
no subject
Tell me more.

Being from Japan, I'm more familiar with that version of the tale.
Legend has it that the two people connected by the red thread will have an important story, regardless of the time, place or circumstances in which it takes place. The red string might get tangled or stretched, but it can never break.
The red thread of fate is usually depicted as being tied on the pinkie finger, linking two individuals across time and space.

Oh.
Jae-ha was really into it for the romantic bit but now:]
That sounds awful, actually.
I appreciate the explanation - but I really hope that wasn't what you saw.

[with amusement]

[does he have to say it like that]
But I'd rather that our relationship be built on choice, rather than fate. I've had far too many things in my life decided for me to accept this too.

Most people find the concept of soul mates or fated lovers to be romantic. I suppose not everyone shares the same tastes.

[that's. that's it. just. no thank you]

He's more aggressive than his frail appearance suggests, isn't he? I found it surprising - I can only imagine what he's suggested to you.
[STOP HIM]
no subject
Th-- that's none of your business.

but also
jae-ha pauses, because that fluster is Interesting]
.... And you're more innocent than expected.
[what a combination
man what does that bedroom even look like he's so curious]
no subject
H-- how am I supposed to take that?

W. . . why are you even thinking about that at a time like this? People are dying, Jae-Ha-san.

Obviously it's nothing to let get in your way - we have plenty of bigger problems - but there's also so many beautiful people here, tensions are running high, no one would blame you if you felt in need of a distraction.

[Akechi stop being so full of yourself]
But if you're incapable of taking your eyes away from a pretty face, then by all means.
[I'M SORRY, SOMETIMES HE IS A POLITE ASSHOLE]

All work and no play makes for a dull boy, you know? It would be bad if you were to fall too far behind on the learning curve - it's worth exploring when you're young, after all.
[NO SHAME]
no subject
I don't understand why you're pushing this so much, Jae-Ha-san.
[HE IS JUST A SHIPPER]

You're both youthful and beautiful - you should learn to enjoy yourself more. Get a feeling for it. Make some friends, have a few loves...
Or you'll be juuuuust like Sousei.
no subject
Were any of us really brought here to make friends?
[why would he make friends when he can just use people to advance his own agenda]
no subject
Of course not.
But why would I do anything that I was brought here to do? I hate all my instructions so far.
[AT LEAST HE'S HONEST]
no subject
For the sake of achieving a wish? Certainly your objective isn't so bad.
no subject
I'd rather just spend my time here how I please.

[hm]
[sounds pretentious]
[and also, not a lie. it's just, his own sense of justice sometimes involves falling into step behind other people, to use them and what they offer him to his advantage]
no subject
Well, that's fine, I suppose. So long as you don't buy into the bad parts of it.
[surprisingly non-judgmental it's fine]
no subject
To each their own, as they say.
